Etsy Bitsy Steps

Hello, winter.  Whoever is not ready for winter, raise their hand!!!!!!

Winter is a time for cozy blankets, hot chocolate, and the fabulous holiday season.  That’s my Positive Polly side talking.  Negative Nancy side says it’s a time for multiple layers of clothing, heavy coats, freezing fingers, and snow. I’m sticking with Positive Polly to get myself out of my former funk and into the holiday spirit and my new business!

I used to be the Crochet queen.  ALWAYS crocheting, crafting and knitting. I can turn a crappy, peeling mirror into a piece of art.  I’d mod-podge anything that will stand still.  I don’t paint or draw or anything like that. I take what I got and create and hopefully make better. It’s what we should all do in life and no, I’m not just talking about crafts. 🙂

So I guess it’s no surprise that last year for Christmas I went on a crusade to make stuff that people would actually like and use.  I have made a lot of gifts in the past but it’s finding that niche of what works and what people actually want/use.

For the big kids, it was limoncello, made fresh in our home with lemon peels aged for over 30 days.  Hubs and I don’t mess around!  Adorably bottled, it was a great hostess gift.  We had a ball preparing several batches together.  I don’t drink much but this stuff makes me want to down a bottle and close my eyes, remembering our amazing Italian vacation. (If you add half and half to it, ohmygod the results are epic= Crema di Limone.) We packaged them with lemon truffles that were super yummy and voila! Instant treat!

I also buy for a LOT of kids.  I have 7 nieces and nephews and then all of my favorite people keep popping out babies.  It adds up to almost 30 kids and the number just keeps growing.  How many knick-knacks can I give these kids?  So last year, I crocheted tons of goodies for some of my favorite little munchkins.  Creative, yes, time consuming, yes, but fun, yes. Triple win.

Here are some of my creations, multiple patterns and ideas meshed together and made my own:

I love crocheting. I always have, since I was a little girl.   Given the time, I find it relaxing and challenging to create something from a ball of yarn.  One day I hope between weddings, my creativity and singing I won’t have to have a day job anymore.  I’d like to be at home to have a family.  I’d like to build something stable to have on the side but better than that because I actually enjoy it.  Isn’t that the dream? A brand of things that make me happy: blogging, singing, albums, and crafts.

Thus begins the next part of the journey……………

DRUMROLL PLEASE………..

………………my entry to ETSY!  That’s right, folks!  I am officially selling my wares on Etsy!

A few favorites appear like Star Wars and Disney friends but also these exciting editions and more coming soon!

I’m just a woman trying to write what she thinks, make music, make money and be creative.  My imprint on the world may be small but my heart is big. I love to share and I really love building this brand.  It means something to me and I hope it means something to you too. Enjoy following me on the continuation of my journey.

Wishing everyone a very happy Thanksgiving!  Be grateful for everything you have, will have, or have had.

Oh and take a peek at my Etsy store!
